Why Support Level Matters More Than Size Alone

Breast tissue moves in a figure-eight pattern during exercise, and the amount of movement increases sharply with impact running produces far more movement than cycling or yoga. A correctly sized bra with the wrong support level (e.g. a low-impact bra for running) still leads to discomfort and tissue strain over time, which is why sports bras are categorised by support level as well as size.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should my sports bra size differ from my regular bra size?

Usually the same band and cup, but many people size up in the band or down slightly in the cup for a snugger, more supportive fit.

Do larger cup sizes need a different style?

Fuller busts generally do better in encapsulation-style sports bras (with individual cups) rather than pure compression, regardless of impact level.

How do I know if my sports bra has failed?

If there's visible bounce, straps dig in under load, or you feel discomfort post-workout, it's under-supporting your activity level.
